The Equipment
For our first blog post, we are going to list the equipment used for capturing all that is Abstract Aerial Art. It is one of the questions that we get asked most frequently, therefore, we have put together this short blog post explaining everything that we use to capture the images and videos you have seen us create.
As you have probably already guessed, drones are the single most important pieces of equipment that we use! In fact, we would not exist as a business without them! All of our aerial images up to the point of writing this blog post have been photographed using them and we will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. They are so important that we have even given them a name!… Pablo. Although we have three different drones, they are always called Pablo. We will leave it to your imagination to work out why!
The drones that we fly are made by a company called DJI. For any of you who wish to learn more about the company or the drones and products they offer, we have included a link to their website below.
There are two drones that we currently use.
- DJI Phantom 4 Pro
- DJI Mavic 2 Pro
For their practicality and quality, these two drones are our weapons of choice! Each has its advantages and disadvantages however, we will address this in a future blog post. For now, we have included a shot of each of the drones below in case any of you have never seen them before.
As was mentioned above, we also have

For everything ground-based, we use a variety of equipment to film and photograph the still images and videos that we shoot for our Printshop and our clients. As has already been mentioned, we travel a huge amount for our business, therefore, taking as little equipment as possible is essential for us. Practicality is vitally important when traveling as much as we do! It is something we have learned as time has gone on! Everything that we take on a trip fits comfortably into two backpacks allowing us to transport it anywhere on the planet.
Below, is the list of this ground-based equipment that accompanies us wherever we go.
